October Update (Yes…I know…I’m a lazy bum)

.:

I know. Oh, believe me, I know.

It’s been months since the last update. I was thinking (hoping) I’d be on a more regular schedule following my move but it’s been harder than ever to stick to one. I’ve barely had time to write (a sentence I hope I never have to utter again) during these last several weeks. The house has required a butt-load of attention. I’ve been doing lots of painting, yard work, and decorating to make it feel more homey. It’s coming along. It won’t be done this year. It probably won’t be done next year. But at this point, I have a few rooms completed or nearly completed.

Horror-FAIL Friday: My OLD Writing – NEW STORY!

Old Writing

Welcome back to another episode of My OLD Writing here on Horror-FAIL Friday. This time, I have a real doozy for you. While sorting through a box of old writing projects, I came across one that I wrote for school in 7th grade. So… as far as horrible quality goes, it predates the other two stories that I shared with you and should make for some pretty entertaining reading material. If you’re unfamiliar with the OLD Writing series, here’s what happens. I share a section of a story and provide recent comments/observations in brackets alongside. Here’s the premise of our new old story…

Our protagonist, Jay Russel, who doesn’t seem to be the brightest crayon in the box, is taking a much needed vacation in Canada. He comes across a nefarious plot involving a radio tower on a precarious mountain top and must place himself in danger to uncover what’s happening. Yeah. That’s honestly all I remember. I haven’t pre-read this so all of my reactions below will be genuine. Here we go…

Aequitas: A New Teaser Trailer!

Good morning!

I am loving the fact that it is finally December, one of my absolute favorite months of the year. Today I plan on getting a wreath from one of my friends as well as getting hold of some Christmas lights for my deck!

I had a fabulous vacation last week in New York. It was just the sort of fresh breath I needed away from everything here. Now that I’m back and re-energized, I feel like I’m in a better place to start getting things done.

One of these things that I’ve been meaning to do for some time was make a teaser trailer for the second book in the Monstrum Chronicles, “Aequitas.” I’ve just posted it to youtube this morning as well as the facebook page and my own personal page. Here it is here for your viewing pleasure.

There is much to do today! For one I’m testing out my new crockpot for the first time and am anxious to see how my concoction of chicken and rice turns out. Hopefully, it won’t be an adventure but if it is, you can rest assured that I’ll write about it here.

I’ve reached chapter 2 on my revisions of book 2. There is so much that needs to be spruced up but I’m hoping that I’ll have most of the book looking ship-shape by the end of the month. This is my favorite part of writing because the composing is done! All I have to worry about is loose ends being tied up (for the most part) and story inconsistencies.

Well, I’m off to get some more work done! If you’ve got a youtube account, please go ahead and “like” the video and give me some feedback! I’d love it!

Until next time, good morning and happy writing!

VACATION!

Good evening all,

Yes, you read that title correctly. On Wednesday this week, my vacation begins. I’ll be heading out to Upstate New York to spend Thanksgiving with my family and plan to do some serious relaxing while I’m there. But I also plan on working on some new material for the four short stories I’m now working on. What? Am I crazy? Did I just say four? Yes. I did.

All four short stories are completely different from one another so I should be able to at least work on one no matter what kind of mood I’m in! I’ve mentioned a couple of them in earlier blogs so I won’t go back over them. And I want to keep them a surprise!

The only thing that I’m a bit sad about is that my wonderful bud, Lemon Jelly, won’t be able to come with me out there.

Lemon Jelly

Let's face it. There's trouble written all over this face.

No worries, though. He’s in the care of one of my good friends. I know she’ll take very good care of him. Still, it is the longest that I’ve ever been away from him. I worry about him stressing out and potentially doing something like this to my apartment.

Hopefully it won’t look like this…

When I return, I will make sure to blog about my adventures out there as well as update you on the status of ‘Aequitas’ and the short stories.

Until next time…

Happy Thanksgiving and happy writing!
